Facing the construction of multiple pipelines by several of the largest fossil fuel companies on earth, the Wet’suwet’en people reoccupy their territory in this story of an Indigenous nation asserting sovereignty. “Yintah” means “land” in the Wet’suwet’en language; the film follows Tsakë ze’ Howilhkat Freda Huson and Tsakë ze’ Sleydo’ Molly Wickham, along with the Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs and fellow land defenders, over a decade-long battle as they protect their traditional land from the companies that seek to exploit it.
Yintah is a participant of Project: Hatched 2024.
