Nishtha Jain (she/her) is known for her critically acclaimed films Farming the Revolution (2024), The Golden Thread (2022), Gulabi Gang (2012), and Lakshmi and Me (2007). Her work intricately weaves the personal into the political, finding poetic resonance in the mundane while embracing the complexity of lived experience. She is a recipient of Chicken & Egg Award (2020); an AMPAS Member (2020); a Film Independent Global Media Maker Fellow (2019–2020); a Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellow (2019); a Sundance Documentary Fellow (2012, 2022); and an American Showcase Fellow (2016).
